About Us

MusicSeen is your one-stop hub for everything happening in Liverpool’s music scene.

We’re building the Yellow Pages of the local music industry — a living, breathing directory and cultural platform that brings together the people, places, and projects that make Liverpool’s music ecosystem thrive.

Frustrated by how fragmented and inaccessible information about the local scene can be, we created MusicSeen to centralise it all — making it easier for artists, professionals, fans, and visitors to discover what’s happening and who’s making it happen.

Our platform now features:
  • Artist Database with 1,500+ local musicians
  • Events Calendar gathering listings from multiple platforms
  • New Music & Video Databases
  • Directories of Professionals, Organisations, and Venues
  • A growing ‘Awareness’ section spotlighting monthly themes tied to key issues in the scene, forming the backbone of our solutions-oriented end-of-year conference

Every week, we update curated playlists to amplify new releases and highlight underrepresented voices — including dedicated lists for women, trans and non-binary artists, and global majority talent.

Through our Live Sessions and Shoutouts, we feature local musicians in collaboration with studios and engineers across the city — shining a light not just on artists, but the full creative network behind them. This helps boost visibility, forge connections, and celebrate the culture post-COVID recovery efforts have often overlooked.

MusicSeen supports:
  • Musicians and professionals, by offering exposure and connection opportunities
  • Fans and gig-goers, by making discovery and engagement easy
  • Visitors and tourists, by showing what’s on and where to go
  • Policy makers, with local music data to support smarter investment in the arts

We’re a small team led by co-directors Connor Di Leo and Nina Himmelreich, supported by our advisory board, alongside a growing network of student volunteers.

Since launching in March, the response has been incredible — especially following our International Women’s Day list of 500+ local women in music. The message has been clear: this platform is long overdue.

We’re just getting started — and we’re doing it together, with and for the Liverpool music community. 😌
